Making Windows Ce 5 See Sdhc
Enclosed driver comes from WM5 SDHC 16GB driver that I patched for WinCE 5.0. My friends reported me it works on 4, 8, 16GB SDHC, but some machines need soft-reset when PNA power-off and power-on, you can try it. When selecting 'f' in the Bootloader Menu, the Windows CE image is saved to Flash first and is launched afterwards. Configure SD GPIOs. If the SD card interface is conected to different GPIOs, other than on our Evaluation Board, you need to adjust the bootloader settings in order to use the SD card boot feature.
How do I get the current directory from which my EXE is running? I have tried the following two codes but they don't work. Path.GetDirectoryName(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.GetName.CodeBase);Using above I get error 'The name 'Assembly' does not exist.' Directory.GetCurrentDirectoryalso doesn't work.EDITOk I found another code that works but it is giving me directory 'Windows' but my program is running from an SD Card. I copied the program to 'Program Files' folder on device but it again gave me directory 'Windows'.How do I get the current directory or more specifically how do I get SD Card/Flash Memory path?

Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorIt is unfortunate that you changed a value that controls the boot up of your system, and the result is that your system doesn't boot up anymore. It is also unfortunate that didn't give us any details. Most unfortunate is that you used a name that is a joke.
Kind of prevents me from taking you seriously.Fortunate is that you point out that, just like on Windows XP, Vista and 7, if you modify the registry without knowing exactly what you are doing you can put your system into a state that will prevent it from booting.Bruce. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorI'm sorry you thing that my nick is a joke.
I use it everytime and everywhere. My real name is Tomas Kavka. If you would like to help me, I leave here details:Navi: Blaupunkt TravelPilot Lucca 3.5Guideline I used:only change I did was in HKLMInit - Var Launch50 from 'WindowsLuccaLanguage.exe' to 'SDMMC DiskiGO8iGO8.exe' (the path is correct)After that I restarted the navi.
Now it freezes on the first screen. Booting from SD card doesn't work.Do you think that this change could corrupt whole registry or ROM? Thanks for any advice.
I'm really hopeless.p.s.Apologise my English please. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorTomas:You should look up the meaning of the work mayhem in English, but I suspect that you already know what it means in English don't you?I don't find any recommendations on that page that suggest setting a value in HKLMInit to use an EXE on an SD card. When setting HKLMInit, don't use exes on your SD card. If the SD card isn't yet mounted you will have a dead device. You may need to contact support for your Navi.

There may be a way to reset the device to its factory settings.Bruce. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorHi Bruce.I am trying to use your editor to have a program startup automatically on a Windows CE 4.2 device (touchscreen POS terminal).I am trying to add:HKEYLOCALMACHINEinit'Launch90'='Depend90'=hex:0A,00,14,00,1E,00To the registry.
I can enter the Launch line correctly. However, when I try to put in the 'Depend' line, it never seems to store the entry correctly. I am not a developer, just an end user, so my knowledge of registry entries is limited.Could you explain how I would enter the above 'Depend' line using your app? Thanks for the help! And the program. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorJames:As you already know, you need to be able to add and edit a binary value.
But, this registry editor does not support that, so I don't know how you could be having trouble doing it, it simply can't be done. You may need an engineer, like the one that developed your application to assist you. Keep in mind that adding an app to the boot process isn't just a matter of adding the registry values, the app needs to be written to run successfully that early in the boot process.Bruce. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorJohn Doe:It is unfortunate that your lack of command of the English language prevents you from communicating better than that, but wait you are from England which makes it very surprising.
If you could communicate in English better, you would have provided some information about what happened when you attempted to run this on your Windows CE 5.0 and 6.0 devices. In English, we call that constructive criticism. In fact, this does run on Windows CE 4.2, 5.0 and 6.0 (and while I haven’t tested it on Compact 7.0, I am confident that it will run there also) and Windows XP. The requirement is that your device has the.NET Compact Framework version 2.0 or newer. As for exporting registry settings goes, as I point out in the article this software is free and exporting the registry was not a requirement. What part of 'simple' confused you? There are certainly other Windows CE registry editors available for ARM processors which you could use.Bruce. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorI don't know anything about your device, so I cannot tell you where the registry files (if any) are stored on your device. You certainly can write an application to change your registry.
I don't know how you would run the app without being about to see the display contents. But I have provided several articles about writing code to modify the registry - at the side of this page is a link to the registry articles. For that matter I have also provided sample code for rotating the display, which might come in handy for you. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorHello BruceGreat Tool! The empire and the five kings: america's abdication and the fate of the world pdf. I had no problem installing and running it.I am just a little bit confused.I have a board which runs windows CE. At startup - this board looks for the registry values in the Flash chip and then copies these registry files to the temporary DRAM.I am assuming that your Simple Registry Editor application is reading the registry values from DRAM and displaying them.Is that correct?I am able to modify/add registry values which stay put when i reboot next time. Pehaps I have another piece of code which upates the temporary DRAM registry to the flash chip. Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorMark:What is a 'boot image (flash image) title'?
- Don't get me wrong, it isn't that I don't know, it is that nothing by that name exists, so I cannot tell you where it is stored. So the question is what is it exactly that you are trying to do?I don't know what to do about not having a keyboard. I didn't really create this to be used to break into commercial off the shelf devices - not that I am opposed to what you are doing, I think that it is cool.On the other hand, if you can run code on the device, which you are doing by running my registry editor, you could write code to modify the registry - I have sample code available on this blog under the link on the right titled 'Windows CE Registry'.Bruce.
Re: Windows CE: Simple Little Registry EditorHello:Thanks much for the registry editor program. Its a life saver.Any way to get a version that could exports the contents of the registry to a file.? Or a method to do that?I have a situation where a.CAB file loads in a driver for a USB Wifi RT2870 chip set and works fines, but the instructions to manually install and load the same parameters manually thru the PROJECT.REG and PLATFROM.BIB files does not work.I have the need to see what the registry file looks like before and after the.CAB installation to find the difference.
I'd really like to be able to incorporate the registry command for the RT2870 chipset thru the OS instead of having to rely on a.CAB file.Thanks.
