Dawn Of War Missions
Dawn of War Mission Editor Texture Pack. This is the first TexturePack that will add new terrain textures to the Dawn of War's Mission Editor. These textures will allow you to make really awesome and realistic looking maps. The textures are also in TGA.format so that they will show up in the MissionEditor's preview window. Mission Map 10 From Dawn of War campaign By: The Hunger/Relic Date: May 24, 2008 This is Relic's map, and I take no credit for creating it. I simply converted it into a skirmish map that can be enjoyed outside of the single-player campaign.
Plot missions are ones that will advance the 'story' of the campaign. Plot missions typically have a very powerful, unique enemy character at the end, generally referred to as a 'boss' creature. The boss can take any form, ranging from a stronger-than-usual Tyranid Ravenor, to an Eldar Farseer to an Ork Looted Tank.
Usually, plot missions have preset (and powerful) wargear rewards, and killing the boss typically grants you some nice wargear as well. Normally, when the boss appears your Marines will give an audio cue and its health bar will appear at the top of the screen.Boss missions are similar to plot missions in almost every way, except they are optional within the campaign and will not advance the storyline if you win. The wargear reward is still usually a preset item. The Eldar Warlock, one of the many mission bosses you will face.Defense missions are played when a territory you captured in a previous mission falls under attack. The wargear reward is largely random. There's still a boss in defense missions, but rather than hunting him down through the map, he'll come to you. Defense missions are just what they sound like; you deploy your forces and hold out against progressive waves of enemy units, typically infantry with a small number of vehicles or monsters in the later waves.

There is a short delay (with an on-screen timer countdown) between each wave, allowing you to revive your units and heal them while you prepare for the next batch of enemies. Defense missions also grant you the use of deployable turrets and cluster mines in addition to whatever wargear your squads bring to the fight. Your ultimate goal is to protect your generators; while plot and boss missions can only really be failed by losing all of your squads, it's perfectly possible to lose a defense mission while all of your units are alive and well just because you lost your final generator.Defense missions are always fought to defend a specific strategic asset; specifically, a Communications Array, Automated Foundry, or Imperial Shrine. The Imperial Shrine.Imperial Shrines under your control make your squads more individually powerful, filling them with the holy power of the Emperor and so on and so forth. In addition to this, each Shrine you hold on a planet awards you an extra use of a rosarius to make your squads invulnerable for a brief period. When selecting a mission, clicking on it will display the description, which enemy race you're facing, any available information you have about the enemy, the reward wargear, and if it's optional, then it will also show how many days you have left to respond before the mission is automatically failed.Once your mission is decided, you must select your troops. While you can have up to six squads available in the campaign, you only have room for four in the deployment pod, so choices must be made.

The two that are left behind won't earn any battlefield experience, but can still get experience from your mission performance and can still use wargear earned while in that mission. The Force Commander must always be present. To access the deployment screen, select the yellow button shown below.
